Speaking of Walter Payton, as I do elsewhere in voiceofsandiego.org, here’s a transcript from the Chargers after LaDainian Tomlinson met with the media on Monday, the day after he scored his 111th career rushing touchdown to surpass the late Hall-of-Famer with the Chicago Bears. Tomlinson, who always gives the media thoughtful answers rather than going through the motions as do many NFL superstars, wore a Walter Payton shirt as he discussed his respect for Payton.
