Meeting of the Minds: October 22 The Front in San Ysidro, 147 West San Ysidro Blvd.

We're excited to announce that VOSD Culture Report writer Alex Zaragoza will be stepping up to host the next Meeting of the Minds with a compelling theme, cross-border culture. From opera in the streets to world-class cuisine, we'll explore the vibrant art, music, food and spirits that influence both sides of the world's busiest border.

The diverse line-up of Pechu-Kucha-style presenters: Monica Arreola - Tijuana's alternative art scene, Maria Teresa Rique - Performing in the streets and beyond, Maria Teresa Rique - Performing in the streets and beyond, Karla Navarro - Exploring Tijuana's culinary boom, Bennett Peji - Border crossing, worth the wait?

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and presentations will begin at 7 p.m. VOSD members can attend for free, all others will be charged a $20 admission, which includes a year's membership to VOSD. Everyone will receive two drink tickets. Enjoy micro-brew donated by Karl Strauss Brewing Co. Plus, a local taqueria will be serving fresh tacos on site if you're hungry. Directions and Parking:

Take I-5 South, exit Via De San Ysidro, take left onto Via De San Ysidro at the bottom of the exit, go under freeway East, then take left onto W. San Ysidro Blvd. 147 W. San Ysidro Blvd is on the right less than a 1/8 mile down.

There is plenty of street parking, or you may park in an available dirt lot behind the venue. To park in the dirt lot, take a right into alley road Cypress Drive (125 Cypress Drive is the parking lot address) off W. San Ysidro look for signs.
