Tuesday, August 30, 2005 | The glimmering mass of Air Force One rolled in to Naval Air Station North Island ahead of schedule at about 4:40 p.m. Monday with only the camera-cavalry and a few VIPs on the ground to greet President Bush and his wife, Laura. Even the media seemed outnumbered by the sunglassed Secret Service agents, military police and Highway Patrol on hand.
