The city sued for violating federal laws that are supposed to protect consumers from unsolicited advertisements over fax and phone lines. Frye began tracking the unsolicited faxes to her office in 2003 and urged the City Attorney’s Office to take action after her requests to be removed from the fax lists were ignored by the company.
