Pat Shea and Keith Taylor have both missed the point of the Mount Soledad cross. The people who came to this country over 200 years ago came to set up a government by the people and for the people.

Mr. Shea, the laws are created to preserve the values and rights of the people, not to conform the people to a law for the sake of a law. It is just an issue like this that the American people need to get behind to bring activist judges in line with American values.

Mr. Taylor, your ravings about your own difficulties with God are sad, but they are also far from the point. You hide behind the Constitution in an effort to convince others your arguments are logical. The fact is the people spoke, and this is an issue for the people of San Diego, not a federal judge. A religious symbol is far different than the separation of church and state which addresses the state supporting one religion. You and I both know that takes policy and there is none in place to warrant that argument, in San Diego or any where else.

When the city of San Diego decides to approve one religion in the city charter, I will meet both of you at city hall to protest.
