Thursday, June 1, 2006 | Keith Taylor ends his column by asking “Who on earth could object to that?”-putting a statue of Phillip Paulson on Mount Soledad. I’m thinking a large part of the population would object, some even screaming and foaming at the mouth in their frenzy to object.

Why can’t they accept the court ruling? For crying out loud. Why don’t we plant a few trees and throw a hunk of marble up there and everyone can honor, dishonor, think about or not think about whoever or whatever they want. There are so many crucial issues that need working on and San Diegans are up in arms over a religious symbol. Why waste money fighting this. Put the money to use slowing down global warming, feeding the hungry, getting rid of AIDS, saving the whales…
