Monday, June 5, 2006 | Perhaps Mr. Robertus, the “John Wayne” of San Diego water quality, can explain why he strictly enforces the Clean Water Act on everyone in San Diego County except the city of San Diego, which discharges millions of gallons of essentially untreated wastewater into our marine environment?

How is this so? Is it because Scott Tulloch is such a great guy? Or is it because city staff manages to produce data that “proves” the barely treated primary wastewater effluent from Point Loma is practically sterile, lightly carbonated with a slight citrus aftertaste?

Really, Mr. Robertus and his erstwhile activist staff have given their buddies and coreligionists at Metropolitan Wastewater a big fat “pass” on compliance with the Clean Water Act; San Diego is the last city in the nation dumping this filth. This “interview” was a fawning puff piece; Voice is evidently firmly in lockstep with the misanthropes that have ravaged this city.
