The New York Times real estate blog has a link to another blog, Sacramento Landing, that’s pretty funny.

The Sacramento blog has a post from one of their readers who took a photo of a Re/Max billboard in Stockton, Calif. The billboard has a couple of Re/Max hot air balloons rising above the cheerful proclamation “Home Sales Soar: Outstanding Agents, Outstanding Results.”

The blog then lists the sales figures for different parts of California:

Sacramento: -38 percent

Central Valley: -33 percent

California: -21 percent

San Francisco Bay: -20 percent

I can add our own, local figure to the list:

San Diego: -30.7 percent. (Between April 2005 and April 2006.)

As the Sacramento blog notes, “I guess it depends what the meaning of the word ‘soar’ is.”
