Most beaches are clear for swimming over this holiday-ish weekend. There is one exception: the water around Mission Bay.
The county Department of Environmental Health advises people to keep out of the water from Tecolote Playground north to the visitor’s center. Bacteria levels are too high.
Same for Children’s Pool in La Jolla, of course, where you can brag to your friends that you not only swim with seals, but with their digested meals, too. Too much bacteria. Keep out, please.
