The county’s Department of Environmental Health is warning swimmers to keep out of a few places in Mission Bay and a stretch of Moonlight Beach in Encinitas.

Stay away from Mission Bay around the Tecolote Playground north to De Anza Cove and at Campland, the county says. Bacteria levels are too high. In western Mission Bay, Bonita Cove is bacteria-laden, too.

These postings have been coming and going every couple of days for the last couple of weeks. If you’re planning on swimming or boating around there, it’s worth asking about water quality before diving in.
