The San Diego Fire Department today dispatched three brush rigs to San Bernardino to assist in knocking down the brush fires that are raging through that region, according to a spokesman for SDFD.

The brush rigs – specialized fire engines used to fight brush fires – join two SDFD engines and an air operations chief that were sent to the region earlier.

The department’s spokesman, Maurice Luque, said that there are no plans to send any more firefighters but that if further assistance is requested it will decide whether to send more aid.
