Tuesday, July 25, 2006 | I heard about 1,500 people meeting in La Jolla in support of Israel.

Shameful! Shameful! Shameful!

What’s all this support in La Jolla for Israel murdering civilians, for destroying civilian infrastructure, for destroying bridges, for bombing the airport, for targeting electric plants, for leveling blocks of Lebanese cities? What’s all this support for war crimes?

Israel is killing hundreds of non-terrorists to get some Hezbollah terrorists. Israel has destroyed billions of dollars of infrastructure to get a few Hezbollah terrorists. I’m outraged that Israel is getting praised for murder and war crimes. I’m outraged that our government is supporting Israel’s horrific overreaction. I’m outraged that Bush is rushing missiles to Israel. I’m outraged that Hezbollah turns to violence again and again. I’m outraged that Israel turns to violence again and again. I’m outraged that Israel is stealing Palestinian land. I’m outraged that Israel dehumanizes Palestinians. I’m outraged that we don’t care.

I’m outraged that we aren’t rising up, storming the streets and calling for a ceasefire, then peace and justice for all.

But I’m not surprised. Bush did the same thing to Iraqis and nobody listened then to those who said stop. When will we listen?
