Wednesday, July 26, 2006 | After living in San Diego for nearly 30 years, the cross on Mount Soledad has become, to me, a geographic landmark. It is historically a part of the fabric of San Diego. I’m not particularly religious, but I like it there. After reading your piece, I must stop and ask ā€œWhat’s Your Beef?ā€ It appears that you and Mr. Paulson are taking yourselves much too seriously.

Leave it alone! If this much energy could be exerted on myriad worthy projects in our community, think what this city might accomplish!

Otherwise, to your list of words by which you describe yourself, add the following: ā€œcynicā€ and ā€œgrinch.ā€
