Wednesday, July 26, 2006 | I am commenting on Mr. Jerry Davee’s letter of July 24, 2006. Unless I missed a judicial decision or a jury trial verdict, the pension gains that he refers to are only “alleged” to be illegal! The same holds true for any fraudulent circumstances and conflict of interest charges. So be more accurate in what you write, Mr. Davee.
By the way, if the current level of pension benefits are determined to be legal, would you then have no problem with the tax? In case it didn’t occur to you, the revenue generated by a pension tax would likely free up some general fund money that could therefore be spent on police and fire protection and potholes, etc.
