While not considered as vital as this morning’s chamber vote, the San Diego World Trade Center has also agreed to endorse the Miramar airport proposal. Its board decided yesterday, according to a press release we stumbled across.
In the release, Bella Heule, the center’s president and CEO, said:
The board agreed that in order to fulfill the San Diego World Trade Center’s mission, the region needs a new airport, and MCAS Miramar is a viable site option. Our mission is to position San Diego and regional businesses for global recognition and market success. For future trade success, we need an airport that can accommodate the growth of international passengers and cargo that we anticipate for the region.
