Friday, July 28, 2006 | This is a great plan, one with vision. Imagine returning a river to its natural state! It has been done in other places – San Antonio, TX comes to mind.
Is there some way that the land could legally be declared a site worth saving? CalTrans could still get fair price for the site and we wouldn’t see yet another office building rising.
Just don’t let that Maryland group get their hands on it or they will ruin the beauty we once had in Old Town. Their idea of restoration is to eliminate Hispanic history in favor of “jolly jack tar” and gold miner speculators.
