Monday, July 31, 2006 | I enjoyed reading Cathy Robbins’ SummerFest story, but must take small issue with her statement that the music festival does not get much local press coverage. The La Jolla Village News has written extensively on SummerFest during the past several seasons. The paper usually runs a big preview story, followed by several reviews throughout the festival and then a wrap-up afterward. Yet, our paper was not even mentioned in the article.

Music writer and critic Charlene Baldridge also scooped just about everybody in town by interviewing Christopher Beach, president and artistic director of La Jolla Music Society (presenter of SummerFest) for the winter 2005-’06 issue of La Jolla Today magazine, a sister publication of the paper. I’d like to see Ms. Baldridge get some rightfully deserved acknowledgment!
