The Lincoln Club, a conservative political action committee, has unanimously endorsed the Miramar airport ballot measure.

And they didn’t hold back on praising themselves for doing it.

The headline on the news release: “MAJOR POLITICAL GROUP SUPPORTS AIRPORT INITIATIVE.

The board demonstrated “political courage,” with its “unrivaled leadership,” the release said.

Lincoln Club Chairman Bob Watkins had this to say in the release.

We realize the current importance of Miramar MCAS along with the important growth of San Diego’s economy in the decades to come. Fully supporting national security interests, we encourage local San Diego leaders to confront the complex issue of addressing San Diego’s long-term economic needs and the limits Lindbergh will pose to our future economy. This will be a problem for generations to come if we don’t take the leadership steps now to address the tough airport issue. San Diego deserves leaders who won’t waiver in the shifting political winds regarding our region’s future.
