I know I said I was going to leave this alone. That was a stupid thing to say. We got some more response to our poll of business leaders about their positions on the airport authority’s ballot measure.
- Kim John Kilkenny, vice president of The Otay Ranch Company, and a member of the board of directors of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association called.
He says he did not vote at the taxpayers association’s recent meeting where it decided to oppose the ballot measure.
Kilkenny said he disagrees with that position.
“Ultimately Lindbergh Field will not adequately serve the needs of San Diego,” he said.
The only alternative is Miramar, he said.
- James Hall, from Hall/Fish Investments, also a member of the taxpayers association board, was unable to attend the vote. He said he supports the decision to oppose the Miramar initiative.
The airport authority’s ballot measure is “so hard to understand, I hesitate to even call it vague.”
- Mike Boyle, from J.R. Filanc Construction Company Inc., said he also did not attend the meeting. He said he isn’t sure he has come to a conclusion about the airport measure.
“But I give great weight to the findings of the taxpayers association and their transportation committee,” Boyle said.
