Forbes Magazine released its annual financial survey of NFL football teams today. The Chargers? They rank third-to-last on the list of 29 franchises with a net worth of $731 million.

That puts them in front of the Atlanta Falcons at $730 million and the Minnesota Vikings at $720 million. Still, don’t cry for the Spanos family. Ranking near the bottom of a The Many-Million Dollar Club couldn’t be that bad, could it?

The Spanos’ bought the club in 1984 for a reported $40 million.

The top team: the Washington Redskins at $1.432 billion. That would plug the pension deficit.
