USA Today’s online edition today highlights our own San Diego Padres. Well, more specifically, highlights the unique, long-standing relationship between general manager Kevin Towers and manager Bruce Bochy. In the story the two, who have been in the front-office for the Padres for 11 years, talk shop (discussing what players they can land for this season), talk sports (their fantasy football leagues) and talk about downtime (betting at the track, bowling, shooting pool). Towers and Bochy also talk about the uncertainties surrounding the Padres’ trading decisions and their own jobs.
