Joe Craver, chairman of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, has racked up a $27,116.91 bill for his taxpayer-funded attorney who is representing him in relation to federal investigations of City Hall.
That’s as of Aug. 16.
Attorney Shirli Fabbri Weiss has represented Craver in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Craver is the former chairman of Mayor Dick Murphy’s Blue Ribbon Committee on City Finances and the city’s Public Facilities Financing Authority. Both groups have been ensnarled in the city’s ongoing financial and legal crisis.
Craver has said he has fully cooperated with all federal investigations. He declined, however, to be interviewed by investigators from Kroll Inc., the New York-based consultants who recently completed an 18-month probe into city finances.
