San Diego City Schools Board President Luis Acle has been sued by a former campaign staff member for allegedly stiffing him of his pay from Acle’s recent bid for City Council. A trial over the dispute will take place Thursday.

Ken Moser, operator of Marketing Support Systems, said Acle owes $11,940 in back payments to six workers on his recent campaign for the District 8 council seat – including $10,000 to Moser. The former consultant said that Acle had until May to pay the bills, but that the school board president tried to cover up the expense instead.

“It’s gotten to the point where it’s absurd. I just want to get my money,” Moser said.

Acle lost in the Jan. 8 runoff to Ben Hueso. Calls placed to his residence were not returned as of press time.

Moser had been an associate of Acle’s since he ran for Congress in 1990. Moser added that he was also owed money after managing Acle’s 2004 campaign for school board.
