Here’s a sampling of some of the donors for Mayor Sanders’ Propositions B and C.
In our story about Mayor Jerry Sanders’ ballot initiatives today, we noted that supporters of the mayor’s measures have far outweighed their opponents in fundraising – at least as far as we can tell.
As of June 30, the Yes on B and C campaign raised $200,600 and there were no campaign committees set up to oppose the propositions.
Here are some individuals and groups that have given significant amounts:
- Builders, Associates, Contractors PAC, a political group for developers: $35,000.
- San Diego Lodging Industry Association PAC, a political group for hoteliers: $25,000.
- Atlas Hotels, owned by regular Republican contributor C. Terry Brown: $20,600.
- Several donors gave $10,000: developers Barratt American and H.G. Fenton Company; OMFOSTER LLC; the Sycuan tribe; Phil Thalheimer, a former candidate for City Council and Mount Soledad cross proponent; former mayoral candidate and healthcare executive Steve Francis; the Lincoln Club of San Diego County, a pro-business political group; and the San Diego Citizens for Accountable Government, an affiliate of Carl DeMaio’s Perfomance Institute.
The next batch of financial disclosures will reflect donations through Sept. 30. They will be released the first week of October.
