This is just ridiculous. Bob Kittle and the Union-Tribune’s editorial board continue to boast about having this mysterious “21-page enforcement action” that the SEC has handed the city.

Today, they are demanding that the City Council release the report to the public.

This is pretty hypocritical. If the U-T’s editorial board wants people to see the report, why don’t the share it? They have a web site, a blog and a few computers. Why don’t they copy it and let everyone download and read it?

Kittle and the ed board may have promised their source that they would keep it away from the U-T’s news staff or not describe it or provide it to the public. If so, that was a dumb promise and they should disclose why they are reluctant to provide the whole document to readers.

Whatever the reason behind it, they look rather ridiculous hiding something from the public and teasing readers with selected bits about it while demanding that the City Council stop hiding that same thing.
