For many years I have been proposed that San Diego develop a library system in which the central warehousing of books would take place at a warehouse erected on outlying lower priced land. More community libraries could then be erected to serve the public needs. Those libraries would be fed by their warehouse as required. A downtown edifice is not what is needed for San Diego.
