Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 | I support slowing down the process on the Navy site to allow for more thoughtful planning of this magnificent piece of the Bay.

However, it wasn’t until reading Evan’s article this morning (“Another Obstacle…”) that I woke up to another major impact this project will have: traffic and parking.

I was at the downtown library during Tuesday’s Padre game. I unfortunately attempted to leave downtown as the same time as the fans, and it took me 45 minutes to get from the library to I-5! So much for developers telling the truth about traffic impacts of their projects!

All impacts of the Navy Pier project must be thoroughly studied before we go ahead with it. Mr. Manchester, slow down this project!
