Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 | The recent letter from Christine Gaunt (Officials’ Travels Benefit SD) informed all of us citizens of little culture just how important it is that Pam Slater-Price represent San Diego at the Mainly Mozart shindig in Austria. She stated that “There was absolutely no public money involved in the ticket travel of our elected officials.” Is Ms Gaunt not aware that Slater-Price has given $188,000 in taxpayer funds to the nonprofit organization that runs Mainly Mozart? She goes on to say “I am dismayed to see such a lack of knowledge among the general populace, and even the media, about how this type of business is conducted. I am not connected to either of these endeavors except to attend a few concerts,” She states that she is NOT CONNECTED but a review of the Mainly Mozart’s website reveals the following; “Residents of San Diego’s thriving downtown area have joined forces as the Mainly Mozart Downtown Ambassadors to provide marketing and promotional support for the Mainly Mozart Festival. The group meets monthly and represents 11 different residences.” A Christine Gaunt is listed as a 2006 ambassador.
