The mendacity of this quote is incredible:

Judie Italiano, general manager of the white-collar San Diego Municipal Employees Association. “Now that this city is overly cautious and afraid of its own shadow, we have to come out in a different direction.”

Now that the city unions have all but bankrupted the city through graft, corruption and “me firstism” without regard to the hardworking people who pay their lazy backside freight, their arrogant leadership has the gall to say we are scared of our own shadow.

We ought to run Italiano and the other vermin that have plagued San Diego out of town on a rail.

This quote puts in a nutshell the “civic pride” and citizenship of the very workers we have doing the people’s business. A thousand plagues on them!
