The county’s Department of Environmental Health closed the beach at Imperial Beach today, after the weekend’s rainfall sent sewage-laden runoff coursing down the Tijuana River and into the Pacific. It then swung north.

The shoreline around Border Field State Park and the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge was closed Oct. 14, immediately following the weekend rainfall.
