The San Diego Association of Governments released a list today of the best places for commuters to work in San Diego.

The list includes some of the region’s most well-known businesses: Qualcomm, University of California, San Diego, the city of San Diego and Sony Online Entertainment.

And SANDAG itself. Yes, SANDAG included itself on its list. I have a call in to find out why.

The award comes through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Best Workplaces for Commuters program, which requires participating employers to offer benefits for commuting such as bike facilities, vanpool subsidies, transit passes and onsite day care. It’s a free and voluntary federal program.
