Yet another Long Beach Unified District (LBUSD) moves to San Diego and takes a job with the SD Unified under Carl Cohn, who upon hire said he had no plans to create an LBUSD here. How’s that going, Dr. Cohn?

I don’t know Kyo Yamashiro, director of the San Diego Unified’s Office of School Choice, and she may be very well-qualified to run the program. However, I do question the wisdom of hiring so many out-of-town administrators who aren’t familiar with various San Diego neighborhoods, dynamics, and cultures.

It would be interesting to see how many central office administrators have left under Cohn, and how many of them have been replaced with former Long Beach staff.
