Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 | In response to Lee Moore’s latest letter, the city and the unions have done their bargaining and entered into agreements. Now it’s time for the city to live up to its commitments! You are probably correct about a former assistant city manager with a very generous retirement allowance, one that the vast, vast majority of city workers are not eligible for. There is nothing to renegotiate! Our current pension plan is reasonable compared with other public agencies. The city will suffer down the road if it decides to reduce employee benefits. You get what you pay for!
