Rep. Brian Bilbray continues lead Francine Busby by 10 percentage points in the race for California’s 50th Congressional District after the Registrar of Voters office updated its vote tally for the first time since Friday.

Bilbray has approximately 110,000 votes while Busby has nearly 89,000, according to the latest figures released on the registrar’s website Monday afternoon.

Countywide there are 60,000 absentee, paper and provisional ballots remaining to be counted, with an unknown portion of those cast within the district.

Busby, who gave up any hope of winning several days ago, had hoped to close the gap considerably as paper ballots, thought to be cast in greater numbers by Democrats, were tallied.

Busby has refused to concede until all of the votes cast are counted.
