Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 | Richard Gibson has it right. Too much has gone on in secret, even today the taxpayers should know the guilty parties. I have a pretty good idea, but why is Mayor Sanders keeping quiet? He doesn’t owe them a thing.
Mr. Gibson forgot to mention other guilty parties: the union leadership which has led the employees into an impossible situation. Their pay raises were delayed for bigger retirements; that was wrong. Now we are asking them to revisit pay and retirements. The news media never called our attention to the problems. When Diann Shipione brought it forward, they did not investigate; she was vilified. I would like to throw all the bums out, but I guess we are too tired, and after all we don’t want to miss “Dancing with the Stars” I am up for a recall petition and another vote. A person of integrity would have resigned long ago, but I guess that is the problem.
