Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 | For so many years, Duke Cunningham had amassed a King’s fortune right under the nose of all San Diegans, including its main media outlet, the U-T, and its U.S Attorney, Carol Lam…

(It took an out-of-towner, Marcus Stern from the D.C. to see the obvious and to uncover the truth.)

For so many years at City Hall, laws were being broken, lies were being told, and fraudulent statements poured out of City Hall like Niagara Falls, in order that the city’s budget could be twisted, abused, and rendered meaningless, until the city went broke – all under the nose of the local main media outlet, and U.S. Attorney, Carol Lam.

“State of the Art” tunnels were being built under the U.S.- Mexican border as part of the cross-border freeway system for drug imports – again under the nose of the U-T and Carol Lam.

Two members of the Arellano-Felix drug cartel are living in a penthouse suite at the Federal detention facility in beautiful downtown San Diego, thanks to the U.S. Coast Guard, and not U.S. Attorney, Carol Lam

All of this occurred, and is occurring while the U-T and Carol Lam decided that it was more important to the safety, security, and well-being of San Diego to railroad and smear a first-term member of City Council.

Carol Lam used immense resources and manpower to raid City Hall in May, 2003, to prosecute – er, persecute Michael Zucchet.

Even if the charges against Zucchet were actually true, the seriousness of those crimes by their very nature would be laughably trivial in comparison to these other matters confronting the U.S. Attorney, Carol Lam here in SD.

Malfeasance in city governance by an entire ensemble of characters went unnoticed.

The Dukester went unnoticed.

Drug superhighways and drug kingpins went undiscovered.

But, at least San Diego is free of the threat of Michael Zucchet!

A highly respected federal judge found that persecutor Lam’s case was truly lame. It did not show any guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The judge found Zucchet not guilty.

But now, for reasons that only Lam knows, she is intent on trying to crucify Zucchet once again, while diverting time, money, and energy from the investigation and prosecution of so many truly grave criminal threats to San Diego. What is the cause for this personal vendetta by Lam and the Union-Tribune?

The U-T (Utter-Trash) declared Zucchet guilty three days after the raid on City Hall, in May 2003, and before any charges were even filed. Something stinks at the U-T, as well, regarding their ruining the reputation of Zucchet for the last three and a half years.
