Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 | While Scott Peters considers the illegal alien encampment as a “non issue,” I am here to tell you as a resident in the area – it is of serious concern to me and my neighbors. What part of illegal aliens do our homeland security officials not understand? Employers of legal migrant workers must pay decent wages, provide housing, and make sure their employees are in this country legally. Property owners should follow usage codes and keep people from squatting on their property. What would happen if I allowed an illegal alien to camp out in my back yard? Yes, I would be in violation of land usage, the “camp” would have to be removed, and I would be fined. ‘Nuff said.
