The Morning Report

OK, being new to the guest-hosting game, I didn’t notice that somebody had posted a question this morning in the comments section. It seems to be sort of a rhetorical question, though, so I guess that’s okay.
The reader wants to know why the media hasn’t compiled an accounting of the outside legal fees the city has incurred because City Attorney Michael Aguirre has “refused” to represent it. I don’t know the answer. I don’t even know if the foundation to the question is correct – that is, whether Aguirre has refused to represent the city or referred an unusually large number of cases to outside counsel. I do recall a fair amount of reporting, though, on the fact that the city was racking up a lot of outside legal fees and consultants’ fees regarding the pension litigation. Anybody else want to weigh in?
