Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 | Residents of this or any other city in the nation want their elected officials to manage public funds properly and provide the services that government is supposed to provide. We do not elect people to office to become the shopping police. Consumers will vote on those issues with their pocketbooks: if they don’t want to buy foie gras or shop at Wal-Mart, they won’t. In America, they should have the right to choose. Did San Diego secede from the Union?
