A huge thank you to those who’ve kept me running with tips, suggestions, questions and conspiracy theories about what it takes to make it here in America’s Finest … well, you know the nickname.

Just to get the wheels turning, here’s a heads up: the Survival blog is going to hit the road in January, mapping out some public transportation routes and following some transit-goers through the wilds of San Diego trolleys and buses.

How long would it take to get from Del Mar to El Cajon, for example, using only public transportation? Or from downtown San Diego to Vista?

Here’s one – it takes a woman named Nadejda Murahovscaia two hours on the bus, each way, to get from her house in Point Loma to the school she teaches high school orchestra at in El Cajon.

Any other stories like this? Do you choose public transportation as an alternative? Does it work? Click my name below to send me an e-mail.

And in the meantime, enjoy your holidays.
