Last night’s wind-driven rainfall has expanded a month-old beach closure in southern San Diego. Water contact is now prohibited between the border and the south end of Seacoast Drive in Imperial Beach, the county’s Department of Environmental Health said today.

The closure, which originally went into effect Dec. 11, had been previously limited to the border area.
