Tuesday, Jan 9, 2007 | Regarding “Rate Hike Advances” by Andrew Donohue:

The last sentence in this story states, “Sanders and City Attorney Mike Aguirre say the increases are necessary to fund vital improvements to the decaying systems.”

My comment is this: Who cares what Mike Aguirre has to say about rate increases? Last I heard, he was the city attorney, not the chief financial officer or the head of the water or wastewater departments. How is what he has to say about rate increases relevant? If he wants to be mayor so badly, then he should get a campaign committee together and announce his candidacy instead of hanging on to Sanders’ coat-tails.
