Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 | Say, what’s with voiceofsandiego.org‘s obsession with badmouthing downtown condos? It’s smart growth that doesn’t chew up open land. And if people want to pay $1 million for 800 square feet, what’s the big deal?

And complaints from your reporters about the percentage of affordable or low income housing downtown dropping? What about a story on the non-existent low income or affordable housing in other employment centers, such as Sorrento Valley and Mira Mesa, Rancho Bernardo or the Golden Triangle?

Of all the things you can have your limited number of reports write about, endless documentation about the ups and downs of the prices of downtown condos have got to be the most trivial. Let’s keep your eye on the news, folks. This is a big city…big county… and downtown condos are really far down on the news.
