After Councilwoman Donna Frye refused a spot on the new Audit Committee because she didn’t get the committee’s chairwomanship last week, the three-member panel was left with an empty post.
Council President Scott Peters nominated Councilwoman Toni Atkins on Friday to round out the committee, which will be charged with inspecting the city’s financial reporting methods and auditing functions. The council has already named Councilman Kevin Faulconer as the committee’s chair Councilman Tony Young as a member.
The council confirmation of Atkins’ nomination is scheduled for Tuesday’s meeting.
