For today’s MonDiego Tube, I found a couple of bits about local newsworthy events this weekend.
First, the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan got underway for another deployment only about seven months after returning from its first one. I wish them well. My wife will have to deploy soon onboard San Diego’s other aircraft carrier.
Someone got a good view of the departing ship from Cabrillo. Rather than hang out with all of the sad people at the base when wifey leaves, I might just go take a cool picture like this.
And we have this. It’s a video blog on this weekend’s anti-war protest in San Diego that apparently gathered together a substantial number of people on the same day the Reagan was leaving. You probably won’t appreciate the video much unless you’re proficient in American Sign Language. I’m not. But our own Vladimir Kogan is. He also speaks German, Russian and Computer. Kogan says it’s pretty strongly anti-President Bush and such. It’s encouraging to see local deaf people using the video to get out their perspectives as well.
