Mayor Sanders has risen to the top of his incompetence.
It seems that he really believes he is related to Dictator Chavez of Venezuela.
Sorry mayor, no dictators permitted in the United States of America.
We realize we elected you but what you do not seem to understand is that you are only a “figurehead;” your job is to cut ribbons, sit in convertibles during parades and play games with business and developers. You cannot seriously believe you run this city, can you?
The City Council, elected by constituents in their districts runs this city. Your power comes from their people, ipso facto their council representatives. You do not have any power to usurp their prerogatives.
If you have read the Brown Act you must be aware that you can in no way keep the council and the people in the dark about any matter involving them. Like the sale of land, or any matters that would affect services to the people.
Essentially mayor, the council is right; you are wrong.
