Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 | Ron Roberts says “The electric car is alive and well,” as though he supported these clean running vehicles. I was at the California Air Resources board meeting where I saw him cast a vote to gut the zero emission vehicle mandate. This act precipitated the destruction of over 4,000 EVs by the manufacturers. I’m sure Mr. Roberts was aware at the time that there was $13,000 of state and federal tax money in every one of those cars. It’s beyond hypocritical for him to give the impression he is in favor of EVs when he was instrumental in their destruction.
