Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 | San Diego, don’t be fooled! Mayor Sanders is telling you that he is negotiating with the police department to give them a little more in their paycheck, while at the same time, he is having the city attorney appeal Judge Barton’s ruling on their benefits. Mayor Sanders said that he would let “the courts decide” on the legality of the benefits, and now that the court has decided, he wants to appeal that decision.
Also, this week, he had the gall to state that he was getting rid of the DROP program, knowing that the program saves the city money. It has been proven over and over again. And, the DROP is a negotiated, constitutionally protected benefit. So, ask yourself, if you were a cop, would you stick around and negotiate with a mayor with a forked tongue? I think not! God help San Diego!
