A whole bunch of mortgage-types descended on the Hyatt downtown today for a national conference put on by the Mortgage Bankers Association.
(Side note: Can anyone explain to me why the keynote speaker for the conference is a deep sea diver who discovered the Titanic?)
Perhaps to coincide with the conference, NPR’s Scott Horsley reported a story from San Diego today for their “Morning Edition” radio program. The story talked about tightening lending practices among mortgage professionals. You can listen to it here.
I’ve been working on a similar story about risky-loan lenders tightening regulations. Check back later tonight or tomorrow to read it.
