The county’s Department of Environmental Health has limited the beach closure in effect to Border Field State Park and the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge. That stretch of beach has been closed since Jan. 30.

According to the county, 47 million gallons of sewage-laden runoff are rolling down the Tijuana River daily, after last night’s somewhat unremarkable rainfall.
